The Toronto Police Service recognizes that domestic violence is a serious social problem, and is not limited or restricted by marital status, sexual orientation, occupation, vulnerability, age or gender. The goal of the Toronto Police Services is to reduce the number of incidents of domestic violence and homicides in the community through education and enforcement.
The Chief of Police believes that the Toronto Police Service must continue to work closely with their community partners to ensure that victims of domestic violence and their children get the help and support they need to leave abusive relationships and rebuild their lives.
