Community Experience Program for Recruits

A total of 13 new recruits attended 23 Division in February to participate in the Community Experience Program (CEP).

The mission of the Community Experience Program is to plan experiences and community outreach opportunities between new Toronto Police officers and members of our community. The new recruits spend their time during the program engaging community groups, visiting and getting tours of community agencies, doing walk-throughs of at-risk communities and meeting and talking to members of their community.

Our recruits gained valuable insight into the immediate needs and concerns of our Divisional community groups. Throughout the course of the CEP, the new officers met with members from the Somali community (Midaynta), the IMO Mosque, Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque, and the Sikh Spiritual Centre. They also spent some time visiting NCO programs in the Dixon, Jamestown and Tandridge neighbourhoods. Finally, the recruits were able to gain valuable experience by visiting 51/52 Divisions to visit the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto as well as visiting with members of the 2SLBGTQ+ community.

Thank you to all of our community partners who participated in the Community Experience Program!
